CALL FOR A SPECIAL MEETING
A Congregational Summer Assembly Special Meeting shall be held virtually on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. EST via Zoom
We hope you will attend. We need an active and informed community. There is only one topic on the agenda for this meeting so we expect the meeting to take an hour or less.
- The CSA Board of Trustees has received a request from three CSA property owners directly north of the CSA Lake MI Beach bluff to build a steel sea wall, at their own expense, on CSA common property. This steel wall replaces the wood sea wall built in 1986 that has been mostly destroyed. The new sea wall is needed to prevent further erosion of the beach and bluff in front of their cottages and hopefully prevent them from falling into the lake or having to tear them down. The Board unanimously agreed at the November 14, 2020 meeting to put forth a motion to Members to vote on the Property Owners’ proposal to build a sea wall on CSA property.

CLICK THIS LINK TO READ A LETTER FROM THE PROPERTY OWNERS. It explains why moving their cottages back from the bluff inland is not a viable option.

Members eligible to vote who are unable to attend the Special Meeting can file a proxy vote with the Secretary at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. Proxy voting is a form of voting whereby a Member delegates his or her voting power to a Member who owns another property to enable a vote in their absence. If there are multiple owners of a cottage, please designate one owner to vote on behalf of all; no proxy needed. If you are unable to attend, you may designate another property owner as your proxy to vote for you. The property-owning Member voting your proxy must attend the meeting and they vote on your behalf. So please discuss your wishes with your Proxy so they vote the way you want. Proxies do not count towards a quorum. Click this link to download a pdf proxy form. Please email it to Jennifer Meeker at . No more than 7 proxy votes shall be held by one person. Associate Members are not permitted to designate proxies.
