Dr. Hernaldo Lara, his wife Evelyn Moraga, and son Ernie are visiting at the CSA, from Nicaragua, the week of July 7-13. They will be giving a talk together in the Assembly Building on Thursday, July 11, at 7:30pm.

The Laras will share with us their personal experience of having to flee their home in Nicaragua last summer due to political violence and how the situation there has effected them as well as their country. They are now living in exile in Guatemala.

Dr. Lara – MD, MPH, PhD – is a Public Health Specialist working as a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Expert for the Global Fund, founded by Bill & Melinda Gates. His region serves Nicaragua and five other countries in Central America.

Evelyn Moraga, MA, is a university teacher, researcher, consultant, and communication professional in areas related to community health, development, at-risk children, and social change.
