On Saturday, July 26th at 7:30pm at the CSA Meeting House, Czech-American pianist Karolina Chapmanova brings the genius of Franz Schubert to life in a uniquely powerful Burrows-Getz concert. Seen through the intimate lens of Karoline von Esterházy, his eternal beloved, this original drama concert weaves music, storytelling, and historical insight into a stunning portrait of one of music’s most poetic souls. The culmination of the concert will be Schubert’s final piece, the Piano Sonata in B-flat Major, D. 960 - his poignant and sublime farewell to the world. The performance, narrated by CSA’s Music Director Ken Cox, combines music and theatre.

Finally, the third concert this summer at the CSA will be the Armstrong Concert, held on Saturday, August 2nd at 7:30pm in the Meeting House. Thomas Riccobono, the conductor of the Benzie Area Symphony and Instructor of Low Brass at the Interlochen Academy and Summer Music Festival will bring a brass group made up of the finest brass players at Interlochen.

Riccobono has performed in symphonies across the world, from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to the Spoleto Festival Orchestra in Italy. His work has taken him to China, Colombia, Germany, and back home to Michigan. In addition to solo and classical work, he performed with several commercial acts, including the Temptations and Bernadette Peters. This is a concert you definitely won’t want to miss!
