September, 2011

Dear CSA Friends,

As Fall approaches, we hope that each of you had the opportunity this summer to spend time at the Assembly. During that time, you may have enjoyed one of the many events held in the Meeting House; a church service, an operetta, or perhaps an educational presentation. It is through the Pilgrim Fund that such events are financially supported.

Established in 1969, the Pilgrim Fund is a 501 C 3 philanthropic entity which allows all contributions to be tax deductible and supports “spiritual, cultural and educational” activities of the Congregational Summer Assembly. These activities include the following:

• Worship Services, Choir and Sunday School

• The Gibson Educator-In-Residence Series

• Musical Concerts

• Charitable contributions to Benzie County non-profits

• Ecology projects with-in the Assembly

• Adult and Children’s Operettas

• Meeting House maintenance and insurance

The Meeting House is truly one of the landmarks of the CSA. The events which take place there and others which are provided through the Pilgrim Fund are important pieces of the memories created each summer. We ask that you consider supporting the work of this fund through a financial donation. Contributions may also be made in memory or honor of individuals. We would remind you that until January 1, 2012 charitable contributions may be made directly from an IRA with no tax consequences, being a distinct advantage over an itemized deduction.

Your support will ensure that the memories we keep through the winter will continue each summer.

Sincerely,

The Pilgrim Fund Trustees

Bryant Dennison, John Harbeson, Eileen Rauschert, Jim Royle, Cliff VanDyke

The Trustees would like to learn how well CSA activities serve you and how well they help to sustain/strengthen the CSA community. It will be helpful to gain better insight into who participates and who declines to participate in the life of the CSA. We would like to know what life circumstances and issues beyond the CSA most affect your ability to be here and to participate. We also would like to know about your interests, backgrounds, experience, and the skills you might like to contribute to the strengthening of the CSA community.

If you’d like to take the survey, you must be a registered user of this site. Please click the “Register” link above/right, fill in the information and then wait for your approval. Once you’re registered, you’ll see a second version of this post, which has a link to the survey. Thanks!
